Rugged New York rappers like Jadakiss are at their best when they're riding in one of two lanes: narratives orshit-talkin'. The latter quality is mostly prevalent here in Jada's latest single, "Grind," an understated burner driven by synthetic bass and punchy drums. It's relatively straightforward, but that's what makes it work so well . Jada doesn't pull any punches lyrically whether he's spitting verbal darts at his opponents or advising younger MCs on how they should approach the rap (and drug) game(s).
